COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES & RULES Rookies Baseball Experience is looking for a few good men/women who would like to learn about the game of baseball. The goal of the Cal Ripken league is to develop coaches who share the same passion for the game as the young athletes. Each coach will be responsible for different areas, so that the only winners will be our athletes. The Minor League division will need three coaches, while the Major League division will be looking for four coaches to help grow our game. Anyone interested in the following position are asked to contact Rookies baseball Experience. General Manager Responsible for preparation of all League information required by the Cal Ripken Head Office in Trenton, New Jersey. Responsible for distribution of all local Cal Ripken league information to team. Responsible for preparing an information tree. (phone or email) for easy access Responsible for handing out and collecting al uniforms. Responsible for reporting all scheduling changes to team Responsible for informing local office of all game results Responsible for acting as a parent/coach liaison Field Manager Responsible for knowing all Cal Ripken rules Responsible for deciding athletes positions Responsible for making all game day athlete substitutions Decide and hand line up card to umpire at pre game meeting Coach third base Finalize all practice plans with assistant coach Oversee all practice sessions and keep events on time Responsible for development of infielders Assistant Coach Responsible for knowing all Cal Ripken rules Finalize all practice plans with field manager Responsible to run all practice sessions Coach first base Responsible for hitting pre game infield/outfield sessions Responsible for development of outfielders and catchers Responsible to carry all catcher gear and bases Pitching Coach Responsible for all pre activity warm up and stretching routines (including running drills) Responsible for entire teams throwing mechanics Decide on six pitcher to from pitching rotation Responsible for all pitching mechanics Prepare pitching rotation (inform field manager who is ready for the day) Responsible for post activity running and stretching Responsible to carry all team balls Hitting Coach Responsible for entire teams hitting mechanics Set up and delegate practice hitting stations Responsible for pre game batting practice Responsible for all base running Responsible to carry hitting tees and team bats COACHES CLINICS Rookies Baseball Experience will ensure our coaches are given the best possible information, through League practice as well as our Cal Ripken clinics. Rookies will guarantee all instructors have major college and/or professional playing experience.
