Rookies is committed to providing an All-Star experience for young baseball players.  The 10 and under program will have an intense practise schedule complimented by games against American teams.  Program starts mid May. 

Formally known as the Winnipeg Blizzard, Rookies Baseball Experience is proud to announce the introduction a program designed for student/athletes who are 10 and under and wish to participate in a skill developing program with elite athletes from across the province.   

Team Rookies is an intense training program concentrating on individual skill, positional play and teamwork.  The program was designed to enhance the skills of young athletes who have a passion for the game of baseball.  Rookies Baseball Experience believes in doing things properly, and this means every aspect of developing an All-Star team.  Team Rookies will look professional and be asked to act like professionals, when dealing with fellow team members, and opponents.  This program will be different than anything you’ve ever seen. 

In a 2009 article published by the Winnipeg Free Press, it was stated that Sport Canada strongly recommends that all young athletes practice 70% of the time they are on the ice/court/field, leaving 30% of participation time remaining for games.

What makes this program possible is the fact the instruction the student/athletes will receive is the BEST around.  I firmly believe that to provide an exceptional program, you have to offer athletes the best possible coaching STAFF.  I’m very excited to have such a highly qualified coaching staff where knowledge is based on many years of professional playing experience.  Manitoba has never seen a program where all coaches can say they have participated in Professional and or College baseball at different positions.  By being part of a professional/college team, the instruction you receive gives you the ability to understand that their in not only one way to do things.  What sets this group of coaches apart, is they all have the ability to take what basics an athletes has, and work within their comfort level.  It is very easy to criticize what a athlete may be doing wrong, but is something completely different when you have the ability to help fix it.
