INNER CITY PROGRAMS It’s a fact, when kids have positive recreational activities like sports – they have a better chance of staying in school and staying out of trouble. ROOKIES’, along with their corporate partners, is proud to offer a development baseball program for young athletes throughout the inner city, core area of Winnipeg. Thanks to a our partners; Princess Auto, the Boys and Girls club of Winnipeg and the Minnesota Twins RBI (Returning Baseball to the Inner city) ROOKIES’ are able to provide a SIX WEEK SUMMER INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE to young athletes from in Winnipeg’s inner city. Our camps include 90 minutes of professional instruction and FLAT OUT FUN – every Fri followed by a short game. Thanks to the generosity of our partners, this year the entire league was supplied with new equipment through the financial assistance of Princess Auto and the Twins. Each athlete was provided a new glove and a t-shirt to keep and each youth center was given bats, balls, helmets, catchers gear, and bases that will be used in the future to enhance their baseball programs. Thank you Princess Auto and the Minnesota Twins! ROOKIES’ will gladly accept any equipment donations to help aid in our continued support of the core area of Winnipeg.
